Connecticut native Amanda Kaletsky will headline a show in Hamden with Toby Lightman at The Ballroom July 18.

Kaletsky’s music has been characterized as “blues inspired love songs to power-drive pop hits,” according to her biography on her website. She considers Joni Mitchell and Carole King influences for her music.

Benefit for Eva Ryan Block

As many of you know, some of my favorite shows have been benefit concerts. Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life... but this Saturday, I'll be performing for a different sort of benefit concert, to remember 21-year-old Eva Block who passed away in a fire last year. Eva was a fellow Amity High School grad, and will be remembered this Saturday at our alma mater with some amazing ballet performances. I'm honored to be a part of the event. Proceeds from the benefit will go to a scholarship in Eva's name, which will benefit a child in the Greater New Haven area to take ballet lessons as a way to keep Eva's memory alive.

Thanks to Eva's family and friends for inviting me to join them. I hope you'll all check out the event if you're in the area.
